Outdoor sauna FAQs

How much does an outdoor sauna cost in the UK?

Skotlanti outdoor saunas range in pricing, with pricing depending on the model, finishes, heater type, and installation requirements. Bespoke and larger configurations are quoted individually. Get in touch for a tailored quote.

Do I need planning permission for an outdoor sauna?

In most cases, an outdoor sauna falls within permitted development rights as a garden outbuilding, but rules vary depending on your property type, plot size, and location. We always recommend checking with your local authority before installation.

How long does an outdoor sauna last?

A well-built outdoor sauna using thermo-treated timber and quality heaters typically lasts 20+ years with basic maintenance. All Skotlanti outdoor saunas come with a warranty.

Can I use an outdoor sauna all year round?

Yes. Our outdoor saunas are designed for year-round use in the UK and Scottish climate, including winter. The combination of cold outdoor temperatures and a hot sauna is the traditional Finnish experience our designs are built around.

What’s the difference between an outdoor sauna and a garden sauna?

They’re the same thing – “garden sauna” is simply a UK term for an outdoor sauna installed in a residential garden. All Skotlanti outdoor saunas are suitable for garden installation.

Do you offer bespoke outdoor saunas?

Yes – alongside our three signature models, we design and build fully bespoke outdoor saunas to match the size, style, and finish of your space. Learn more about our bespoke service.
